It is typical of Conservative Party framing to criticize Liberals in Canada for getting into the Afghanistan war. Liberals would have been criticized by the Conservatives for being too soft if they did not go to Afghanistan. Had the Conservatives been in power they probably would have gone to war in Afghanistan AND Iraq.
